    Introduction

In 2015, Iran with the production of 984000 was the 18th largest automaker in the world. Based on twenty –year outlook of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the automotive sector, production of 3 million of light vehicle has been planned, 2 million will be for domestic use and 1 million for export.

Spare parts needed for the Iranian market worth25 billion U.S dollars should be supplied by Iranian auto part manufacturers and parts worth 6 billion USD should be exported to foreign markets.

In the commercial vehicles sector, for the transportation of goods and passengers, 120,000 units should be produced which 90, 000 units are for domestic use and 30,000 are for export.

A population of about 575million people lives in neighboring countries of Iran and the CIS. In 2014, Iran accounted for 30% of production and 40% of car sales in this region. The CIS require 44,00000, cars per year but only27,00,000 vehicles are produced annually in that region and the rest is imported.

Also considering the emphasis of the Government of the Islamic Republic on the activation of East transit route of the country with centrality of Chabahar and considering designation of chabahar as a hub for most CIS for their import and export purposes, targeting the automotive industrial park is justified and in the first phase is based will concentrate on the assembly of heavy and industrial vehicles.
