    Introduction

United States and Taiwan are the world's largest plastic consumers. The growth of the petrochemical industries in the world suggests an increase in plastic consumption per capita in developing economies. Production of laminated floor coverings, carpets, moquettes, veterinary services and auto mobile tires are among the products which use the most chemicals.

In industrial and commercial sectors, they also use the most chemicals in the field of industrial design, metal plating, woodworking and manufacturing industries.

The highest consumption of plastic materials in the world is for the production of plastic bottles (between70 to 80 %,) and the lowest consumption is for metal cans (less than 10%).

Various other materials are also produced from petrochemical products, and given the advantages of the petrochemical sector as well as oil and gas; Iran has many capabilities to develop its chemical industry.

According to the plans announced by the Government,

Chabahar will be Iran's third petrochemical hub and some refineries are also being built in this area. This makes the development of secondary light chemical industries a priority.
