According to the report by Pejvak news website of Afghanistan, Zia ul-Haq Sarhadi, the Deputy Director of the Border Customs Organization of Pakistan, underlined that most of these trade exchanges have been handed over to these two Iranian ports due to border problems between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Speaking as a senior official at the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in a meeting with his country's business community, he added that border security problems, as well as the very poor transportation and transit services between Pakistan and Afghanistan, have made Pakistan left behind in trade with Afghanistan and this opportunity is available to Iranian businessmen.

Sarhadi criticized the weaknesses in his country's transportation system, saying that the lack of trains from Karachi to Peshawar and the lack of proper services to private-sector trucks have led to the transit of goods to Afghanistan; the Pakistani government has suffered heavy damage from trade and exports.
