Project Description :

The province of Sistan and Baluchistan has a desert and semi-desert climate and the average annual rainfall in this province is about 110 mm and the average temperature is 22 to 37 degrees Celsius. In general, the weather system that dominates the region varies from hot and dry to moderately cold and mountainous according to regions and altitudes, and the relative humidity of the province is equal to 37.5 percent. - Due to the proximity of the province to Dasht-e Lut, this province has a hot and dry climate with a mild winter, and in the summer, the days are hot and the nights are cool, and in the winter, the days are sunny and the nights are freezing.  The temperature changes during the day and night, as well as the annual temperature fluctuation range are high, the relative humidity of the air is low, and the annual rainfall is much less than the average rainfall in the country. More than 75% of atmospheric precipitation occurs in the cold season. In the warm season of the year, the Indian monsoon is active, and this monsoon may have an effect on the region. The province of Sistan and Baluchistan has had the worst conditions in terms of the severity of drought in Iran with 21 percent of rainfall compared to the long-term average in the agricultural year of 1999-2001.

  In a statistical period of 15 years (1986-2001), the air temperature of the synoptic station of Zahedan with an annual average of was 18.3 degrees Celsius, Khash 19.7 degrees Celsius, Saravan 21.8 degrees Celsius, Zabul 21.9 degrees Celsius, and Chabahar 26 degrees Celsius, and Iranshahr 26.5 degrees Celsius in which respectively had  experienced the lowest to highest temperature.  Also, the average relative humidity in a 15-year statistical period of Zahedan, Khash, Saravan, Iranshahr with an average relative humidity of 31%, Zabul 41% and Chabahar 76% do not stand out from the lowest and highest percentage of average humidity. Also, in a 15-year period, the average annual rainfall was 62.6 mm in Zabul, 77.1 mm in Zahedan, 114.4 mm in Saravan, 114.5 mm in Iranshahr, 122.3 mm in Chabahar, and 161.6 mm in Khash, which had the lowest and highest annual rainfall.
